Fin de Siècle Retrofit with Cork Boards

Cork is the slow choice on a wall like this, because a Victorian rear elevation with a bay window is nothing but details. Every board around the bay and above it had to be cut to fit.

We sealed the window frames and reveals with airtightness tape before the boards went on, detailed the insulation to carry rainwater away, and rebuilt the bay roof insulated with new flashing. A lime base coat went over the cork, then breathable silicone render, with aluminium sills, a white verge trim capping the top and black mosaic render on the plinth.
