Most of the work on this one is the part nobody sees. We fixed airtight boards to the ceiling rafters and taped them, sealed the junctions at the floor joists, brushed a liquid membrane where tape could not reach, and fitted grommets around every drainage pipe.
The sockets sit on structural insulation board, so they could be fixed securely without punching through the insulation line. Then the walls: battens first, then Diathonite lime-cork insulating plaster sprayed on in layers and levelled off by hand. We also blocked up an unused window in matching brick and built a new suspended floor while the house was open.
